Issues & Debates Flashcards

Define gender bias in psychological research.

Gender bias in psychological research refers to the effects that the psychologist’s own background and values may have on a theory or outcome of a study. It can occur in two ways: Alpha bias, where the differences between males and females are exaggerated, and Beta bias, where differences between males and females are minimized or ignored.
